GARTNER STRIKES GOLD AT RAINBOW

2017-08-10T11:17:07+00:00 August 10th, 2017|Greg Gartner, Racing, Sponsorship|

GARTNER STRIKES GOLD AT RAINBOW Penola’s Greg Gartner and Jamie Jennings struck gold at the Rainbow Desert Enduro on the weekend, skating their new new #410 R&J Batteries Extreme 2wd Trophy Truck through the mud to take the outright victory. Fresh out of the box from the USA, Gartner debuted the new Geiser Brothers Trophy Truck just a fortnight ago with fourth outright and first in class at Waikerie and backed it up by stepping on to the top step of the podium at Rainbow, which was also the final round of the 2017 CAMS BFGoodrich Australian Off Road Championship. “We are pretty thrilled with the win and it is good to be here. To have a fourth and an outright win in the first two runs in the new truck is a good start and we are happy. The Geiser Truck is 110% and it is great to be back on top of the AORC podium for the first time since winning Finke in 2011.” Commented Greg at the finish-line as the rain came down. Gartner started the weekend in style, running fourth in the prologue after a timing glitch initially had them listed down in 30th, then stepped up to third in the top ten shoot out. Championship leader, Travis Robinson got the jump on Gartner off the line on Saturday afternoon’s two lap section which left the South Australian covered in mud. “We stuck with him and chased Travis for 35-40km and got covered in [...]

GARTNER BACK IN BLACK AT RAINBOW

2017-08-07T10:33:02+00:00 August 4th, 2017|Greg Gartner, R & J Batteries, Racing, Sponsorship|

GARTNER BACK IN BLACK AT RAINBOW Two weeks after taking the Class 4 win and fourth outright in the new #410 R&J Batteries Geiser Bros Extreme 2wd Trophy Truck at the Waikerie Hotel Riverland Enduro, Greg Gartner and Jamie Jennings will be back in the hot seats this weekend at the Rainbow Desert Enduro. Just across the border from the teams Penola base, Rainbow will be a great opportunity for the crew to get more miles on the truck against a quality field, as the drivers battle it out at the final round of the 2017 CAMS BFGoodrich Australian Off Road Championship. “With very limited testing and time in the seat, I was very impressed with the truck out of the box at the Riverland Enduro and I’m happy to have locked away a good result with it on its first outing. We need to dial the suspension a bit more, but it is a lot closer than I expected it to be. If I can push a bit harder and brake a bit later we won’t be far off the pace.”   Starting in twelfth after the prologue at Waikerie, Gartner won the drag race against the Wilson Jimco off the start line and quickly settled into the groove, working his way up to sixth by the mid point of the race. In the closing stages, Gartner pushed a bit harder and greeted the chequered flag in fourth outright after a solid 300+km of racing.“The truck felt good and strong and there was nothing wrong with it after the four laps at Waikerie. If [...]

Higher Capacity Battery Requirements For European Tractors

2017-05-30T15:29:47+00:00 May 30th, 2017|HardCore, Technical Bulletin, Tractor|

TECHNICAL BULLETIN [RJTB1] Published by R & J Batteries, May 2017 Higher Capacity Battery Requirements For European Tractors When supplying replacement batteries for later model tractors and harvesters please check the CCA and/or Ah rating of the original factory-installed battery, as well as casing dimensions, polarity, etc. Many newer models, particularly those manufactured in Europe, have original batteries which are much higher capacity than traditional versions, up to 30% higher CCAs in some cases. The use of standard capacity batteries will increase the risk of premature battery failure or warranty claim, and may even contribute to component (eg. starter motor) damage in some instances. Aside from genuine replacements and specialist brands like Varta & Caterpillar, R&J Batteries are the only major supplier with these higher-spec’ batteries readily available in most cases. The following tractor brands all have multiple models which require higher capacity batteries:   Contact R & J Batteries for more information /www.rjbatt.com.au  /1300 769 282 Download RJBT01

Top Reasons Why Car Batteries Fail Prematurely

2017-05-24T14:02:59+00:00 April 2nd, 2017|Battery History, News, R & J Batteries|

Your car's battery is the lifeblood for many mechanical and electrical components that are responsible for its overall performance. When something goes wrong with your battery, your car is not going anywhere fast - if at all. Without a healthy battery, your car’s engine may not start, and most electrical accessories will not function adequately, if at all. It goes without saying that when there is a problem in this area, things can get stressful. The lifespan of a car battery can vary depending on several factors including how often it’s used, overall vehicle condition, battery quality and the battery’s suitability to the application. The real concern is if you have a relatively new battery that starts showing signs of trouble. This post will outline some of the most common issues associated with a relatively new(ish) battery that fails to deliver consistent, reliable starting.  Too Little, Too Often Cars are a fantastic way to get around, however their convenience makes it a little too appealing to drive when you could have walked. Car batteries struggle with frequent use in the form of short trips which can eventually deplete the level of charge. Cranking the engine to start your car can draw hundreds of amps from your battery. Once the engine is running the alternator begins charging the battery, but car batteries only accept charge at a relatively slow rate, so you may need to drive for some time to fully recharge / replace all the power used to start the [...]
