Delkor Batteries have a history of innovation and manufacturing excellence. They were the first Korean battery manufacturer to produce Sealed Maintenance-Free batteries. They introduced both AGM and EFB batteries in 2012 to cater for emerging Start- Stop engine technology. Technology

Patented by Delkor’s parent company Johnson Controls (JCI), the innovative PowerFrame® technology all starts with Delkor’s specific lead alloys. These alloys are passed through a unique multi stage cold-rolling process. By progressively rolling the lead down to the exact thicknesses required, Delkor ensures the finest grain lead possible is used in PowerFrame® plate production. With precision tolerances measured to thousandths of a millimetre, the patented PowerFrame® stamping process then punches the unique positive plate PowerFrame® grids in a highly controlled and uniform manner. Absolute consistency in plate construction is the key to reliability. This finely controlled process reduces stress on the metal, further ensuring consistency and reliability.


PowerFrame® grids are up to 66% more durable than traditional plate construction technology. Johnson Controls conducted comparative tests in harsh environments all around the globe, including taxi cabs in the notoriously tough New York cab market. Post-test analysis showed PowerFrame® consistently outperformed all other battery plate designs. The full frame around the PowerFrame® grid ensures plate rigidity, strength and durability. The unique radial design of the plate grids ensures electron flow is optimised for maximum efficiency. The PowerFrame® plate’s unique design provides up to 70% better electrical flow than other battery plate designs.

Quality

Even the best technology in the world needs a thorough and rigid quality control process to ensure maximum efficiency and consistency. No one does this better than Delkor. Delkor has won the prestigious Korean Standards Association KS-QEI Quality Award every year from 2006 to 2015 inclusive.
