Fans of the #8 R&J Batteries Racing will be excited to know that R&J Batteries will be sponsoring Brad Jones Racing (BJR) for a third consecutive season at the 2022 Supercars Championship. We will be resuming our status as the naming sponsor of car #8.

“We are proud to be taking on naming rights with BJR once again and extend our agreement with Brad and the team into 2022,” said Stuart Hamilton, Chief Executive Officer of R&J Batteries.

“R&J Batteries is very excited to be on board with Brad and the BJR team for the 2022 season as Motorsport is part of our DNA. The 2021 season has been challenging for everyone involved in the sport, including sponsors. So to be part of the BJR team for yet another season has us very excited and looking forward to not only 2022, but we hope a season with minimal interruptions, lots of on track action and plenty of podiums.”

Managing Director of R&J Batteries, Ray Robson, further adds “there are some synergies between BJR & R&J Batteries. Both are family run organizations looking to outperform the opposition and get the best result for their respective teams.”

“After our first full sponsoring year, we have faced some challenges as the teams have been in and out of lockdown. We are looking forward to 2022 and hopefully getting back to some kind of normality with crowds returning to enjoy some competitive racing. I would personally like to thank Nick for his commitment in the #8 R&J Batteries Supercar this year and wish him all the best for the next chapter of his driving career.”

BJR Team Owner, Brad Jones, is looking forward to continuing the partnership. “I’m excited to extend our relationship with R&J Batteries in what will be our 3rd year together. Their continued support through what has been a bit of a difficult time with the current situation Is exceptional and I’m very excited for what’s to come in 2022 and maintain this strong partnership together.”

R&J Batteries entered the Supercars Championship scene in 2020 with the sponsorship of the #8 R&J Batteries Supercar driven by Nick Percat. The successful partnership with Nick continued for a second season in 2021. Nick is currently sitting at 8th position in the Championship leader board. He will next be competing at the Sydney SuperNight from 29th to 31st of October.

Considering the recent announcement of Nick’s departure from BJR at this season’s end, it is yet to be known who will be behind the wheel of #8 R&J Batteries Commodore. We wish Nick all the best with his future endeavours and thank him for making the #8 R&J Batteries Supercar look good on racing tracks across Australia.
